STUDENT LIFE

DU students are community-builders and we  boast over 100 student-run organizations—ranging from club sports and honor societies to arts, spirituality, and niche interest groups—easily discoverable and joinable via our online portal, CrimsonConnect. The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) supports and funds these clubs, while the DU Programming Board (DUPB) brings the community together through flagship events like Winter Carnival and May Days. Our largest club on campus is the Alpine Club, which organizes a wide variety of outdoor adventures from fall through spring. Start exploring campus life here.

All new DU students are required to live on campus for their first two years—this fosters community, supports growth, and deepens your connection with campus life.

You will apply through DU’s Housing Portal and as a transfer student, your options will include the Transfer Living Community (TLC) at the Transfer House, or Centennial Towers, each offering unique campus access and amenities.

More information about housing at DU can be found here.

Yes, you can complete 1, 2, or 3 semesters abroad with Verto and remain eligible for the Direct Transfer pathway to DU.

Note that there are additional High School GPA requirements to be eligible after only 1 semester.

While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Direct Transfer Application for holistic review.

You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee to DU! The 3.0+ GPA requirement is cumulative of all college transcripts.

Yes, homeschooled/GED students are eligible for the Direct Transfer Guarantee! DU will need to review your respective transcript and GED scores with your application.

The DU admission committee may contact students individually if additional information is needed.

While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Direct Transfer Application for holistic review.

If you have questions about the application process, work with your Verto Care Team.

If you have DU-specific questions, you can email adm.transfer@du.edu

Once you arrive at your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to DU.

Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.

The following documents will need to be included in your Verto Direct Transfer Application packet to DU:

  • Verto to provide from their records:
    • Final High School Transcript
    • Mid-term Report for your current Verto semester
    • Unofficial University of New Haven final transcript for any prior Verto semesters
  • Student to submit to Verto for inclusion:
    • College Essay (optional) DU encourages you to provide additional context about your Verto experience.
    • Unofficial college transcripts from any pre-Verto college coursework
  • Student to submit directly to DU at time of application:
    • Official transcripts will be required upon matriculation.
    • Note: Submitting official college transcripts at the time of application enables DU to provide students with a more detailed credit evaluation.

If you are pursuing an additional semester, you will work with your Verto Care team to submit a new Direct Transfer Application during your final semester abroad.

If you apply and are admitted to DU and decide to pursue an additional semester with Verto, you will need to email adm.transfer@du.edu to confirm your status update.

Since you would be enrolling in additional college courses, you would not be required to submit a DU enrollment deposit to defer your admission. Instead, a new admission decision would need to be made based on your additional academic progress and grades.

You will receive confirmation when DU starts processing your application. You’ll also receive log-in credentials for the DU applicant portal to keep track of your application status. DU will follow up with you if additional information is needed. Admission decisions are typically finalized within three weeks once all required materials are submitted.
